191 Leather Bound Bibles were individually packaged for mailing to the prisoners on the Heart of America Bible Waiting List. We have mailed 731 Bibles so far, with a goal of 900 before the end of the year. 2009 Christmas Gift Program
As the Christmas season approaches, we are reminded of how good it feels to give to those that are less fortunate. God has placed it on our hearts to give to as many children as possible this year and in order to do so we will need your help. Here is a simple breakdown of what we will need to meet the needs of these kids.
$6.00 Per Child includes a specific gift for each child with a bag lunch packed with fruit and candy. Each gift will be age and gender specific. This will also include all the wrapping and Christmas Cards or each gift. We keep the Christ in Christmas and we want to let every child know that they are special in God’s eyes and that JESUS LOVES THEM.
All gift wrapping and distribution will be provided by our Teenage youth group and the Men’s group at Heartland Community Church in Olathe, Ks. This is not only going to be a way for children to receive a gift that they would normally not get, but it is also going to be a program to show young teens and young adults the power of giving and sharing the love of God with others.
We will be providing gifts for every child at Troost Elementary in Kansas City, Mo. Grades range from their Head Start Program (pre-K) to grade 6. $6,000.00 is our goal. Any and all donations will be accepted and appreciated. Please make checks payable to “Greatest gifts”. Donations will also be accepted at any Bank of the West under the account of Greatest Gifts or can be directly mailed to the contact info listed below.
All Donations for the this years Christmas Drive need to be in by December 15, 2009. Additional donations for other charitable events will be accepted year round.
Details on the kids receiving these gifts will be documented. And we will be taking pictures and videos to show you the fruits of your gifts, so please include your email address or a home address with your contributions.
